Meet The Remade Team

We have been ever so busy working behind the scenes enrolling new retailers, updating our site and tweeting the good upcycling news, We thought it was about time you met the Remade in Britain team officially and you can finally put a face to a name!

Donna Fenn aka Donnatello!

Co-Founder

Hi. Some of you may have seen me in the promotional 'upcycled room in a skip' stunt. As one of the founders of Remade in Britain, I came up with the idea for Remade in Britain back in December 2013 as I found it difficult to find what I was looking for online. I decided to tap into this gap in the market and I'm so glad I did as I love working for Remade and watching what once was just idea now grow and come together.

I spend a lot of my working day planning our next big event whether it involves manning a stall such as at our Salvage Partnership stall at Grand Designs Live or involves promoting the site, like our launch stunt. I also do a lot of interviews and guest blogging for press, other websites, blogs and media. The support for Remade has been overwhelming and so you might have even watched me on TV or heard me on the radio! I'm just so thrilled to be voted #2 BDaily's Yorkshire Entrepreneurs of 2014

When I'm not organising and liasing with the PR company, customers, retailers, the press, accounts, the web development team and payment companies, you can find me at home with my husband and youngest son, on the phone to my other two children, volunteering or training new volunteers. I love upcycling handmade products with an eco ethos and have fond childhood memories of watching dad salvage and do DIY.

Hello all. As Business Manager, it is my job to constantly improve the site and to come up with exciting ideas for our customers and retailers, to increase promotion both press and socia media, handle queries from customers, retailers and our PR team, to constantly network and to plan, plan, plan.  Having worked in e-commerce for almost 3 years and as a graphic designer before that, I have plenty of ideas and experience when it comes to online selling and promotion.

I November 2014, I helped Donna launch the site and am now in charge of launching the new Salvage section for 1st June 2015. I update the @RemadeSalvage account daily, manage the @Remadeinbrit twitter and instagram accounts and run #RemadeHour with Anna. I am also in charge of the @RemadeTV twitter account and the RemadeTV Youtube Channel where I create helpful reatiler and customer videos, DIY tutorials, vlogs and interviews and upload our edited Press and Media videos. If you would like to appear on our channel or know more about our PR, email: tv@remadeinbritain.com.

Lucky for me my role is very varied. I do a bit of everything from writing blogs, creating page content, making videos, creating marketing emails and composing graphics right through to interviews, networking, PR and site development. You may have noticed a big part of my job is social media and marketing but I do still have plenty of time to manage, train and brief the team and, of course, to handle those occasional larger issues

When I'm not working, I will be found crafting, particularly with my sewing machine or jewellery making tools, playing and listening to music, keeping fit and upcycling furniture, clothing and accessories. I also love a good weekend nosy around a craft or vintage fair.

Hello, I'm Amy and I am completing my social media apprenticeship with Remade in Britain. I think of creative ways to promote and expand the company on various social networking sites and manage several twitter accounts, the @RemadeRetailers instagram account, the #RemadeHour Facebook page and Remade Retailers Facebook page. I also help run the Remadeinbrit Tumblr page, the Remadeinbrit Vine account, the Remade in Britain Google+ account and share all the smaller twitter accounts with Philippa.

A busy lady, I am the first point of contact for customers and retailers and help out with day to day administration work. I also create marketing emails and graphics and make help videos for customers and retailers that visually explain Remade in Britain to the wider world. All the work I do for Remade in Britain I combine with the work I do towards my apprenticeship qualification. I am hoping to expand my knowledge of the online world, whilst bringing new ideas to maintain and continue the success of the company. You can read about my apprenticeship progress on my 'Day in the Life of An Apprentice' blog.

When I'm not working, I enjoy taking trips to new places around the UK to visit friends and family and then when summer finally comes around, you can be sure to find me at one of the British music festivals embracing the predictably unpredictable British weather!

You can find me on LiveChat (via any website page), via email to support@remadeinbritain.com (that's right, customer queries to a real person!) or contact me via twitter @RemadeSupport.

Hi, I'm Philippa and I'm thrilled to have joined the Remade in Britain team. With a degree in Geography, I have always had a keen interest in the environment and the importance of recycling for a more sustainable future.

My role is to write interesting blogs for our Remade Blog and keep our information pages looking and sounding great. I am also in charge of the Remade in Britain Facebook page. Apart from blogging and posting about all things remade and vintage, I also know how to assist in setting up stores, keep our social media accounts up to date and provide customer service and retailer support.

I have a passion for vintage fashion and homeware, so when I'm not at work you can probably find me rummaging around antique centres, carboot sales and charity shops for vintage treasures to add to my collection! I also love baking, cross-stitch and trying my hand at a new craft.

Vicky from Remade in Britain

Vicky Bailey - Our Master of Copy!

Copywriter and Blogger

Hi, I'm Vicky, Remade copywriter! Having recently completed a Masters in English Literature I'm the resident word-buff, and my tasks include blog writing, editing and filling the site with engaging text.

My first love is creative writing, so I relish my copywriting tasks at Remade. It's a great opportunity to crack out a wacky vocabulary and get imaginative describing our retailers' one-of-a-kind creations!

I'm a wild child at heart, so when I'm not working you'll find me tramping through forests, chasing about on a netball court or scrambling about in caves underground. A devotee of the sixties-seventies rock music scene, I get inspired by our retailers' funky upcycled retro furniture.

Heather - Doing it for the blondes!

Web Developer

Hi, I'm Heather and I'm the in-house web developer for Remade in Britain. My day to day tasks involve developing and modernising the site with new and exciting features, liaising with our other web developers as well as helping to mend any bugs that may come along. Having studied and worked in web design for 6 years, you know the site is in good hands.

I love crafted and handmade goods so I'm always seeking out new finds when shopping plus I'm into beauty and fashion and thus love keeping up with trends. I love my job, particularly working on Remade as it allows me to get creative with my design. When I'm not doing web design, I'm enjoying time with family and friends including my new baby nephew, and doing all sorts of random fun activities.

Paul - The Token Male!

Graphic Designer

Hello, I'm Paul. My role as in-house graphic designer for the Remade team involves creating all imagery from page, social media and marketing email banners to promotinal leaflets, business cards and more. I take my instruction from the girls and make the site and all promotion look as great as it can do. What's great about working for Remade is that it allows me to be quirky with my designs. Having only just graduated with my masters in graphics, and before that a degree in computer science, its brilliant to be building up such a diverse portfolio!

In my spare time, I like building and painting models, video games, hiking, hanging with family and friends and making music on my beloved computer.

Churchill - The 'Not-So-Furry' Friend

Head of Pet Relations / Canine Liason

Woof, I'm Churchill. As well as being super busy dealing with all our pet relation needs, I am also the official office shredder. Having worked for other eco companies, I have several years of experience dealing with canine customers and am always happy to help.

When not at work, I enjoy going for walks, sleeping, eating and chewing everything!
